HE BROUGHT US OUT. SO HE MIGHT BRING US IN.

June 30, 2024

The Lord wants to bring you into His promise. The Lord wants to bring you into the life He died to give you. He wants to bring you to abundance! He wants to bring you to rest!

But can you see Church?
To bring you in, He needs to first bring you out. Many times, it is simultaneous. As He brings you out, He also brings you in. But there are times also that it takes time to bring you out.

To bring you in, He needs to first bring you out from your traditions, from your old thinking, from your old beliefs, from your old way of doing things, most especially from your comfort zones!

He brought Abraham out from his father. Out from his family. Out from his country (Genesis 12:1). The Lord brought Abraham out from his father to bring him out of his father’s strength. He brought him out of his father’s customs, of his father’s way of doing things which is normally by stress and toiling.

WHAT MAKES JESUS HAPPY?

June 23, 2024

We were brought to believe that a spotless life, a life lived in moral excellence, a life of obedience, is the life that makes Jesus happy. Again and again, we were taught to deny ourselves and to count the cost because this is what it takes to become a “worthy” follower of the Lord. We were taught that we have to pay the price. Doing so would gain the approval of Jesus and make Him happy. But thanks be to God for opening our eyes to see the real Jesus! We are now slowly discovering that the Jesus in the Bible is far different from the Jesus we were taught to believe!

So what makes Jesus happy?

It is not when we live a worthy life. We saw in Luke 14 that Jesus was surrounded by “worthy”, “morally upright” and accomplished people. And yet Jesus was uncomfortable. These people invited Jesus to watch Him, to try to copy and be like Him. They were so strong in their own eyes that they thought they can be like Jesus if they observe Him enough. Jesus did not feel at home. He was grieved.

SETTING YOUR EYES ON JESUS IN TIMES OF TROUBLE

June 16, 2024

Many times, when we find ourselves powerless and at a lost on what to do with our problems, we become bitter and stressed. We never want to find ourselves in a situation where we do not know what to do. We resent the times where we are helpless and weak.

But in God’s eyes, these are actually the moments He wants His children to be in! In fact, the Bible calls us blessed when we are at the end of our ropes (Matthew 5:3 MSG). The reason according to the verse is that there will be less of us and more of God. It is during these times, when we do not know what to do nor have the power to meet the problem, where we are led to look to Jesus for help. It is during these times where we declare, “Lord, my eyes are upon You!”
