Did you know that in the Bible, there’s a specific book and chapter that is dedicated to enumerating all the blessings that accompany our obedience to the Lord, as a stipulation in the Old Covenant of Law. These blessings can be found in Deuteronomy 28. However, those blessings are just the tip of the iceberg; a mere portion of the agreement God made with man thousands of years ago. The Old Covenant of Law actually also states that if you DO NOT adhere to the laws written in it, curses will come not only to you, but up to the third and fourth generation. How horrifying, isn’t it? Sadly, many Christians have avoided reading that passage because of fear. Yes, the standards of the Lord remain to be pristine, that is why many are left feeling inadequate in approaching the Lord. Some extremists also cite Deuteronomy 28 as a way to scare other Christians into obeying God! But they are completely missing the point! Jesus, the One who did it all, has redeemed us from every curse! There is no more room for fear! So today, sit tight, relax, and enjoy the Good News of Redemption that He has done for us!
