Since time past before the Lord moves powerfully into a person’s life, He does something first, He changes the name. Before the Lord gave a son to Abram, He changed his name from Abram to Abraham. Before the Lord answered Jacob’s prayer of being reconciled to his brother, He changed his name from Jacob to Israel. Before Saul became a mighty apostle of grace, the Lord changed his name from Saul to Paul.
The changing of the name is the Lord’s way in telling His chosen ones that He is about to do something great! It is his way to say that the old has passed and the new has come!

The Lord did the same with our church, He changed our name. He changed it because – He is about to do something great! He is about to fulfil His promises to us! He is about to usher something new!
